Web pages
This page contains some mostly internal information about how to update information and projects on the society's web site. This should be seen as a reference for project managers and editors which have need to publish news or update information about their respective projects, or the society generally.
Overview
Pages contain static information about projects or the society. They should be linked from the primary menu in the hierarchy where they belong. Stories contain news and other regularly updated information either from the society generally, or from one of the project. A story can be linked to a project, or displayed separately. If it's linked to a project, then it will show up on that projects web pages as related news.
How to...
add a project
- Add the project name and short description as a taxonomy term in the Projects category.
- Add a first web page for the project and set the menu path to be under Primary Links->Projects.
create a new sub-page for a project
- Create content of the type page
- Set the project to the name of the project it belongs
- Set a menu item to be below the project
create a news entry
- Create content of the type story
- Set the project to the name of the project, or leave it empty
add an editor
- Go to user preferences and give the user in question the editor role. This will enable the user to update story and page content as well as create new content for their project.
- Give the link to this page to the editor
